...and of course thanks for sharing some amazing pictures of your Pasha! They really highlight the details that make this watch so special! What I like the most is the way that Cartier wrapped all these very nice, and very functional, complications in one watch that is so full of details! Truly an amazing piece! Thanks again for sharing and wear it in good health and happiness!
Just like you I have a special affection for the Pasha! It is indeed one of the most versatile watches around, and I love to travel with one because no matter the occasion, a Pasha always strikes the right note, from theme park to three star restaurant. Jealous that you actually had the opportunity to try on the Pasha tourbillon; how did it feel around the wrist?
When I'm not mistaken this is a stunning 1980's Pasha! The first time the Pasha really became part of the Cartier collection (before that it had only been made in very, very limited editions and often only when requested) and an absolutely stunning watch! Thanks for sharing!
The Pasha has always been a personal favorite of mine. To me it is always a bit of an exotic styled watch with its unique lugs and canteen crown. However it never looks out of place, and is still as classic and contemporary as tge day it was created
I think that your image shows exactly the power of the Pasha; simple lines that resulted in a strong, timeless and recognizable design. But then again, that is the hallmark of so many of Cartiers classic designs! Love the LOVE too by the way!
Thanks for you kind words Chuaks! The big date gmt is also one of my favorites, a very worthy succesor of the 1990's gmt power reserve Pasha. Will look a chocolate dial image up for you. I think I photographed one at the Chicago boutique earlier this year.
With its interesting history, and especially after the amazing versions in the 1990’s and early 2000’s, the Pasha de Cartier has grown to a steady pillar within the Cartier collection. That was proofed once more when Cartier introduced the Pasha 42 in 2005. With this watch the Pasha returned to it’s roots in a very contemporary way. With a plain bezel, blued hands and lack of date, but with
The bracelet reminds me of a tear-drop style bracelet that was once (late 80's/early 90's) available for the LC Tank. Would love to see some of these original bracelets also make it to the men's models once again.
Great to see that a classic Cartier is taking center stage again! What a sensual watch, especially with this bracelet! I can really see that many women would love it!
About the men's version....yes, Cartier should make one. Slightly larger, nice hand wound movement and in yellow gold (because that has that nice classic look for it) and yes, they should also make a diamond set men's version in
Thanks for these additional pictures! I was very surprised that I find myself liking the yellow gold model more than the white gold model. In yellow gold the watch gets a more of a Dandy feel to it. I also love the finish that Cartier applies on the movements. Like I said before, some very established Manufactures might sleep a little less comfortable knowing what Cartier is doing these days!
Hi Geo,
Thanks for sharing these two new Cartier's with us. Cartier has for many years been known as Jeweler of Kings and King of Jewelers, yet they are now clearly also the King of Complications!
What I like about the new Ballon Bleu is the combination of complications; usefull yet exotic and that is probably also exactly what people who buy into this price range are looking for. I only thin
Two great watches Geo! I especially love it that the Maxi Oval has London on the dial and the Crash Paris. A great remembrance of the time when the Cartier empire still consisted out of three branches! Also the curve of the watch is amazing! Would love to see that on some of todays watches!
I guess Cartier felt the need to proof ones more that they are the Jeweller of Kings, and King of Jewellers? What a very impressive collection with so many flavors! Makes you feel like a kid in the candy store and it is very hard to choose something from this amazing line-up. Thanks for posting!
To me this is the essence of watchmaking; the passion of its owners. Thanks for sharing this amazing story and these great pictures! The watch looks indeed very wearable on your wrist! Wear it for many years to come in good health and hapiness!
This is a big watch for Cartier. Not so much in size, but more because it can attract new customers to the brand for who it might be their first Cartier. Although it is a nice looking watch, I personally would take the Ballon Bleu chronograph over this one (I cannot get that grey dialed version out of my head!). Biggest news for me is then also the movement! A manufacture column wheel chronograph
Thanks for these amazing pictures, Geo! With this model the Tank Anglaise is finally entering the major league since it will make the watch much more affordable then the full gold models. The combination of steel and pink gold will also make it stand out a bit more, and this was actually the first time that I noticed how much the bracelet resembles that of the Tank Francaise. A very nice addition
Hi Geo,
I think that one of the reasons why the Skelette did so well is because it is not only a very beautiful and interesting piece but it is also the "new" Cartier. Not that Cartier itself has changed so much, but it's focus on high end manufacture movements have put a spotlight on what this brand already does for more then a century; creating timeless classics, with strong pedigree and cle
Seeing both watches in real life is already a rare opportunity but seeing them side by side right in front of you, must be even more of a treat! And Christmas is still a couple of weeks away!
Congratulations Paolo, on this new addition! An amazing allrounder that looks good no matter what you throw on on where you are going! A very nice addition! Enjoy and wear it in good health!
The bracelet is indeed the best! Cartier out did themselves. I even did a little write-up about it a while ago at Revo.
If they bring out this watch again I would doubt if they should make it any larger. 38mm still isn't very large, but I actually think 34mm is perfect for this watch. They only thing I could do without is the date. The contrast with the champagne dial is a bit too much for me.
Hi Mysterieux,
Thank you for your kind words! I think that it are mainly the stories behind the watches that make them so interesting. Those things really add value and make you truly bond with a time piece. Although I must admit that my first Cartier doesn't get the wearing time it deserves, I would never sell it since the stories made the watch too much of my own!
Hi Dino,
Thanks for sharing your Pasha chrono. This exact model is this the most beautiful Pasha chrono made to date. Everything is right and I also love the cal. FP 1185 that they've used.
Welcome at Revo-online's Cartier forum! Great to have you here, especially since you raise some very interesting questions. Christie's is auctioning a white gold Tank Normale next week in Geneva, and I notiched that that one also has a different crown. The one on the yellow gold Tank Normale seems to have a crown that reminds me of the Tank Americaine, while the Tank Normale at Christie's seem to
Gentleman,
What a lovely discussion is taking place here! I am personally a big fan of men's watches with diamonds, and that is also one of the reasons that I've started with PureCarbon. I also think that diamonds can be worn all day. Personally I even wear diamond set watches during the day and.....even with casual clothing!
It depends on the watch of course, but some diamond set watches
What an amazing Panthere is that by the way! Looks great on you and is still on my own wish-list.
My first Cartier.....it has been a while. I became interested in Cartier after I went by the usual brands when I started collecting. Although they where all great watches, they where either very specific sports watches or dress watches, but nothing that can do both. Cartier could offer me both qua
A Tank in general is already amazing, a Tank with diamonds is superb! Thank you for this great write up, and of course that I could have it on PureCarbon.info! I'll return the favor ery soon with a comparison between a Louis Cartier Tank and.....?
Thank you for sharing these pictures! The Smitsonian has indeed an amazing jewelry collection and it is still very high on my wishlist of places to visit. If you ever have the time read the book Dr. Richard Kurin wrote on the history of the Hope diamond. It reads like an adventure novel, only it is all true!
