Yes, a bit funny actually :-)
My guess is the same as your guess Geo.
I only know that my picture is very recent (in fact last night) as I happened to pass by. And this is what came out of my camera LOL
I believe the original/first picture is what the place will look like when finished in a short while.
Best :-)

The new Place Vendôme Louis Vuitton boutique studio will surely be an extremely interesting place to stop by when finished.
I can't contribute much, but here is a quick shot of the "work in progress" at the mentioned corner of Place Vendôme.
Seems it is going to be large and looks indeed promising :-)

seemingly coming from a higher point than mine :-)
So, I am opposite your Bay-view, as well as a night shot from the room-balcony.
These are from the Panasonic GF-1 and the 14-45mm.
This is now my most used travel setup.
Even have the GH-2, but I tend to think that it is too big for travel as well :-))
The closet is filled up with heavy dSLR gear, but long is the time since I c
surely a very respected ting to do by Duncan's family and of course not to forget A. Lange & Söhne themselves.
By coincidence, driving down the Glashütte valley and thus passing the Manufacture TODAY,
I kind of had Duncan in my mind all the time.
I wish the auction raises a good amount of money for the good cause this is.
Thank you to everyone involved,
Bent
Thanks Jaw,
Incredible setup, and some well known faces there.
Not to forget the exceptional food - and your coverages seem to include more and more of the tasty stuff. LOL
Appreciate your efforts!

Thank you Wimster - very enjoyable reading!!
This is life - great friends, great watches and nice travels. I really enjoy reading and seeing postings like this. Add fantastic food, and the pack is complete :-)
Finally, I could not resist.
Way off your high quality images, food and watches of course, but I felt I kind of had the "right" ingredients for a quick similar photo shot from my b
Seems like JLC is changing their style quite a bit this year.
As I (obviously) haven't seen the real pieces in person I can't really tell which one of the new or "old" Master Geographic
I would rate the "better looking" model yet.
However, personally I still not regret getting the now "old" model some years ago - having a bit more sporty, colorful dial and total appearance.
It's casual eno
Thanks for the update,
I know the current Master Control well, but any more info on this 2011 model? Same data/details as the current model?
AFAIK it is currently not on the JLC homepage... at least I can't find it, and haven't seen any info about this particular model anywhere....
Thank you,
Bent
There are many new and interesting mechanisms showing up in timepieces each year from various Manufactures, BUT I have to say...
JLC keeps on to amaze and surprise with something really different and special again, again and again!
Maybe it's the railway passing right next to the JLC Manufacture and rattles the building that makes the clever heads at JLC come up with all the amazing idea
"Extreme Watches for an Extreme World" from the Manufacture - where can it be obtained?
Except from the initial press-release (August 2010) I find very little info about it, and as I can see, it's not in JLC's e-Boutique either?
Thanks for any info,
Bent
Seems like an incredible party! JLC never stops to amaze!!
Thanks Jaw, I think you have overdone yourself (again) with the great photography!
Cheers from Hong Kong.
Looking forward to visiting The Sands...next time.
Cheers

Thank you for a very interesting report so far. ( And I'll bet Part 2 is no less :-) )
You got some quite unique "behind closed doors" images there!
I am sure you enjoyed the visit tremendously, and I am glad to be able to "take part" of it in this report.
There are many valleys on Earth, but this little German valley must be one of the most interesting - innovative and historic as it is.
Thank you very much so far Wimster, enjoyable.
The little Glashutte town is a special place on Earth indeed.
Of course, VERY special for those of that happens to have an interest in the "finest of fine" traditional German watchmaking :-)
Cheers

Thanks,
Surely looks like a most have.
Typically, this is a nice thing to get in the hands and feel the weight of. Then, ponder over the good ole days when books were printed on something called paper.
Like a mechanical masterpiece in our digital world.
What I am trying to say is that it wouldn't be quite the same to read this book/text even on the newest, shiniest, most perfect iPad,
Impressive
Very, very impressive indeed!
The watches, the venue and the coverage, truly incredible and amazing, end.
The few persons being able to add "THE BOX" to their collection are for sure extremely fortunate.
Thanks,
Bent
Fantastic Wimster!
Thanks for sharing your experience.
Some very interesting pieces there, and it seemed you really had a great evening.
At the moment I am undecided what new watch to add to my collection, but a GO, either a dress piece or a more Sporty version are both circling in my my mind.
And it doesn't get any better when you keep bringing us nice reports like this
Thanks a
I am deeply and very, very sad to read this.
Duncan was one of the most enthusiastic collectors I got to meet, and I absolutely considered him as a true friend.
I didn't have the opportunity to meet up with him for a while, and this now feels extra sad.
He was also - together with a very short list of other individuals - a major reason for me personally to get involved in finer timepieces
Hi,
Thanks a lot for sharing this interesting experience with us.
I am not much of a diver myself, but real life use of a watch in an environment it is designed for
- is something I personally appreciate to read about.
- And congrats on your new personal record as well!
