Hi all,
I spent a few days at BaselWorld and would like to share some of the photos I took while I was there.
The McGonigle Brothers new Tuscar watch was high on my list of watches to see and I was not disappointed.
The Tuscar is 42.5 mm in diameter and sits very comfortably on the wrist, as John McGonigle shows us...
Even though the watches on display were prototypes the finishing was excellent. Employing a combination of finishes - circular graining, straight graining, black polish, perlage... good stuff! And, note the large (12.8 mm) balance, coupled with a 18, 000 bph, to ensure stable timekeeping.
The Tuscar also offers architectural interest and depth in the many shapes and multiple levels of the movement.
As many now know, the white gold "One in Ten" Tuscar is sold out. On offer now is the red gold Tuscar Bánú (dawn in Irish.) Pictures of this model will be available soon, but a few clues - it will likely follow their RG Tourbillon in its color scheme. Meaning the wheels, barrels and balance will be RG plated, the hands will be in polished steel with RG tips and the bridges will probably be plated black.
I should note, regarding the photography, it was a real bugger to photograph properly - manage the light and properly represent the color of German Silver plates, which is warmer than I was able to capture. I need more practice taking photos in the hostile BaselWorld environment!
Cheers,
Curtis
