Who would have thought that a small company like Leica, that was almost bankrupt, just before the M8 was launched,
has the guts to launch an expensive camera body that is not able to shoot in color.
IMHO Leica is the only brand that can be successful with a product like this.
There is no brand that has so many people who do mainly black & white and street photography.
I think it's a very clever move that Leica did and I doubt if there is another camera on the market that delivers
black & white pictures with the detail found in the files that come from this Leica M Monochrome.
It's a camera made for Leica hard core fans and the Ansel Adams and Henri Cartier-Bresson style shooters.
I am a 'color' man in my photography, so this special camera is not for me, but I love the fact that leica
made it and they know for whom.
The X2 is a logical step forward, but I doubt if people are waiting for an optional finder,
exactly as the Olympus PEN series had years ago. It's pretty big, works well, but in daily life one always
forgets to bring the finder, at least that was my experience with the PEN.
Actually I had hoped and was almost sure, that the Leica X2 would have a build in finder like the X100.
