This year, A. Lange & Sohne offers us some great new models from the Lange 1 collection, a line which Lange aficionados hold dear to their hearts, it being one of the first watches to be presented to the world after the reestablishment of the brand in 1994. Familiar codes such as the off-centre dial configuration and the outsize date readily identify the new Lange 1 models, and a stunning new high complication marks a highlight of brand's SIHH debuts.

The Lange 1 Time Zone first seen in 2005 now comes with luminous indications for even greater legibility and functionality
The Grand Lange 1, as the name implies, comes in a substantial case size of 40.9mm, with an entirely new caliber developed to harmonize perfectly with the case dimensions. Even the date was subtly adjusted so as not to appear small in comparison with the rest of the dial.
Crowning the collection is the magnificent Lange 1 Tourbillon Perpetual Calendar, with jumping indications for all calendar displays. The jumping indicators are all accomplished within a minute of each other and the extra investment of energy this feature requires is testament to the skill of Lange watchmakers. A view of the back of the watch shows the exquisite gold rotor with platinum rim for high inertia. Note also the use of a Lange hairspring coupled with a free-sprung balance with adjustable eccentric weights.
Last year's Saxonia Thin is now available in white gold.
A couple of diamond-set automatic Saxonia timepieces are delicately beautiful and classic.
Why try to improve on something as celebrated and beloved as the Datograph? Because then you get the Datograph Up/Down, a gorgeous updated replacement for the original, with an added power reserve indication.
