Hi Bruno, difficult question at least for me.
Cartier has a whole series of Art & Crafts models and I was lucky to have seen
how these watches are being made.
It really is ART in capitals.
We did an article on these watches that you can find
HERE
Despite their hefty price tag, these limited edition watches do sell very well.
Of course they are produced in very limited runs from 20 to maximum 100 pieces,
depending on the number, which also makes them more desirable, but still.
Personally, since you asked, I am not fond of the combination Art and watches,
it does not do me much, I love the way it looks, but it does not facinate me enough,
same for the watches by Ulysse Nardin with the erotic engravings on the back,
or illustrations on the dial, they were funny, but for how long.
The Artistic Crafts Series is on a much higher level, from a creative point of view,
but I rather see it on a desk clock than on a watch.
