Although I have seen very few in real life, mostly in photos. To me, a watch is the ultimate form of jewellery and, as such, I consider artwork on the dial appropriate. If I was in the positon to afford some of those I have seen, I would most certainly have one.
I have heard it said that with no markers it would be difficult to tell the time. We all learn to tell time at a very early age, and most of us can easily tell the time at a glance simply by the position of the hands.
The one you show in the photo is one of the nicest I have seen. I love the overall simplicity of the watch, the stunning blued hands, and the gorgeous painting. I, for one, would be very proud to wear such a piece.
