Following in the wake of Jewellery and Watchmaking, Cartier Accessories are now the subject of an
anthology of photographs published by Flammarion.
This rare book is a retrospective of objects created by Cartier from 1870 to the 21st century,
covering more than 750 pieces, all photographed in actual size to capture their incredible creativity.
The priceless heritage of items from the Cartier Collection in Geneva, which is normally only displayed at
major exhibitions, testifies to an astonishing level of productivity.
This sumptuous reference book presents the art of living in objects created over a period of more than
150 years, from the first belt buckle produced in 1870 to contemporary accessories.
The book is both a work of art and a valuable resource for collectors. It includes both everyday and
exceptional items, fashion and travel accessories, all designed with unique style.
They include engraved objects such as the cigarette case in the form of an envelope addressed to
Winston Churchill’s son, glamorous objects such as the Duchess of Windsor’s lorgnette,
and odd objects such as a telescopic propelling pencil.
This annotated catalogue of precious, inventive creations re-establishes these objects as a source
of inspiration and intense creativity. More than accessories, they are, in fact, essentials.
It has taken a while, but the book is finally since this week available from the Boutiques and from Amazon
and is actually part three of the 'Cartier Collection' Series. Jewelry and Timepieces were released earlier.
Be aware that when you plan to pick it up from a bookstore or Boutique, that the book is large and very
heavy to carry.
With it's dimensions of 42 cm x 29.7 cm, over 500 pages and about 450 illustrations,
it's an incredible source of information.
English and French editions available.
