Good day everybody!
I´m from Vienna and since last week I´m the happy owner of my first Cartier Watch, a straight Santos Galbee Stainless Steel,
flat back, date at six and a hidden clasp (so classy!)
i bought it online from a renowned german 2nd Hand watch shop, and it looks near mint - what a beauty, it is really a piece of jewellery not just a watch
since i am new to the deeper matters of the subject, here some questions:
-- on the troisanneaux - website, it says about the galbee:
"OVER THE YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN MANY SLIGHT ALTERATIONS AND TODAY THE MODEL IS STILL IN THE CATALOGUE AS THE SANTOS GALBEE XL.
THE SAME LOOKS, THE SAME DESIGN AND THE SAME FEEL, JUST A LITTLE LARGER TO FOLLOW THE LATEST TREND".
somehow this doesn´t make sense to me -- if it is the original design, just a little larger, then it is the classic big model he talks about, right,
why not saying that right away? Am i just too fussy or do i miss the point here?
-- second q., what is the difference between a GALBEE and a CARREE?
-- and third, whatever happened to the santos ronde, it is no more in the cartier catalogue....
Thanks for interest and have a nice weekend,
Martin
