When you ask for a Chrono & GMT gtg - what do you get?

16 of us had a gtg some time ago and the theme was Chronographs and GMT or rather watches that you travel with.

So what do you expect?

Table shot of all the watches

Three Lange Chrono - one 1815 Chrono (a rare RG Black Dial version) and 2 Plat Datographs

And how often do you see 2 Harry Winstons at one gathering? Wow, was all I could say!

Omega Speedmasters - the iconic Chrono

Another Lange - the Dato Perpetual, an Ikepod and a Jaquet Droz Chrono another unusual piece.

The Patek

Two Vacheron Constantin

The the 2 Rolexes and 2 Grand Seikos GMT

Final count (not all watches were captured)

Lange - 4
Grand Seiko/Seiko - 4
Vacheron Constantin - 2
Jaeger LeCoultre - 2
Harry Winston - 2
Rolex - 2
Omega - 2

Rest were one each brand... AP, Citizen, Patek, Ikepod, Nomos, IWC, Jaquet Droz, Reed, Movas and Hamilton.

Pictures are credit to Reed Tan.

It was an incredible party of watches and watch brands. But many of us are clear on one thing- when you travel, travel with the least conspicuous timepiece so as not to attract attention.

We were also introduced to a new Singaporean watchmaker Sean Wai. I believe you will be hearing more about him. Sorry no shots of the participants (actually, I forgot my camera) so I have to make do.

Sorry no food shots too but you can see we had a bottle of Yamazaki 12 Years Whisky. Dinner was at Saboten Tonkatsu Restaurant. Probably one of the lightest tonkatsu in Singapore. Good food, nice watches - what more can we ask for?

I do believe there are more shots taken so wait for those by other participants!

that must have been a fantastic GTG! wow, what a great collection of watches Eddie, the shot with the triple Lange Chrono's, the HW's, wow!

hope to see more shots of this gathering, including the food LOL
Japanese Whisky, never tried it and every time I see a bottle I think, that will be my next purchase.

tx for sharing and hope you're doing great Eddie! I have plans to visit Singapore next year, hope to have the chance to attend a GTG like that

Love many of the pieces that wear on the table.
Good idea to set a theme for that evening.
Thanks for posting.
Your evening remembers me of the last GTG's Wim organized in the South
Of the Netherlands.

Waiting for you in SIN :-)

We hope to see you here in Singapore Wim! Let us know and we will surely try to get one GTG going.

And yes, the Lange chronos are a beauty to own.

And yes Geo, we have a theme around every GTG. The last time we had it was Swiss on one hand and Other (make) on the other. Most GTGs are double wristed :-)

It is around watches and food - typical of Singaporean to have gatherings around food.

Then there was another one gathering where one of the theme was watches below $1,000 when you bought it. So it does not have to be an expensive hobby.

For this one, we had the gathering at Changi Airport so one of the theme was GMT or a watch you use when you travel.
Fantastic gtg !

Ciao Eddie, thanks for sharing the event and pictures....
Really an unusual sight to see two Harry Winston !!
And many other interesting pieces...I recognized a Seiko 6138 among them, very iconic of the run for the mechanical chronograph !
Strange to notice that no Zeniths were there....

The idea of a theme for each gtg is really great, this really allows every kind of collector to take part to it.

Great to have a GTG with such a diversity of favorites! I'm personally very taken by the VC's and love the looks of the Harry Winston's. What still surprises me is how much I like the Hamilton Pan Europ and how it stands out of this group in a very positive way, despite the fact that its retail price is what some of the other watchbrands on the table ask for a simple maintenance. Thanks for sharing!
