AlTAiN? But does that mean it is all AlTAiN coated steel or just that top section?

stiff likes independent horology, but he will have to study this mechanism in much more detail. If you could post the plans in Autodesk 3D Solid and the G-code, stiff could perhaps independently validate the design? Just kidding with you!
