Twin Turbines in UR-202

I am curious if the UR-202 turbines should be left in "normal" or "vigorous" position. This question is in the context of how best to balance wear, but yet being able to wind the watch.

Many thanks!

Dear LP.
Hmmm... i don´t own one but i think i can answer it.
;-)
Choose the "SPORT" Position to cut the sharp movement moments of the rotor and the watch is still winding.
In the "EXTREME" Position the rotor stop completly and in "Free" Position the rotor is moving freely.
This is how i understand it!
Hope that helps!

Thank you, ARS.

Yes, there are 3 positions based on level of activity. But would it help to prolong longevity if we always keep it in "vigorous" if the watch winds sufficiently?

Hi again!
In my opinion: yes!
Keep it in the "SPORT" position. That was the whole purpose behind the whole system!
And switch to "EXTREME" for really hard activity...
But Ian will help for sure with profound explanations and i´m sure he is with you as soon as he reads this.
He is AWESOME in this!

Greetz again!

If your watch gets sufficient winding in Sport' then there will be a little less wear on the automatic winding mechanism than if you leave on Free.

If you find your watch stopping time to time then it is better to leave in Free mode
