Attempted robbery at APR&P (old news!!)Posted by Theodore
Hello all,
It is a bit of old news now, but when I went to visit APR&P (who manufacture all the complicated movements for RM) with a group of Chinese visitors about 4 weeks back, I was appalled to see rocks placed in front of the building as an 'anti-break-in' setup and the windows partly covered up. It seems there was an attempted robbery about a month before our visit. 
The thieves did not get very much; they stole the mock-up watches from the showcases, so what they got was basically worthless. 
Nonetheless, there has been a marked increase of robberies in the Le Locle/Chaux de Fonds region in the last years. With the French border very close by, and many ways of leaving Switzerland on trails as well as roads, this has been a problem for centuries….but it has taken a turn for the worst compared to 10 years ago for sure.
