The Jaeger-LeCoultre/Dark Knight Watch,

Before reading this post, let us pray for the victims, their families, their relatives and their friends who have suffered in Aurora Colorado. The senseless act by an insanely evil individual has unfortunately tainted the comic legend I love since I was a little boy. As a fan of comics and graphic novels, even the most evil villain in the comic world could not have done what a mad individual in Colorado did.

It is no secret that Christian Bale, our regular protaganist Batman in the latest blockbuster “The Dark Knight Rises” is a fan of Jaeger-LeCoultre and neither is the association between my fictitious hero Batman and Jaeger-LeCoultre new (see my previous report on Michael Tay's 'Batman Forever' Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso).

Seventeen years ago, a limited Reverso Grande Taille series was created with the Batman logo engraved and lacquered on its solid case-back. The watch is back in “The Dark Knight Rises,” reated to stand up to the hard knocks, with the Bat-Shield only visible when it’s reversed.

Today, Jaeger-LeCoultre pays tribute to the epic conclusion to the Dark Knight Legend with a custom Reverso watch. A special edition Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 steel watch engraved and lacquered with the latest Bat-Shield (It is interesting how the logo has evolved over the years).

From this month onwards (July, 2012), Jaeger-LeCoultre will display the original 'Dark Knight' Reverso in its Geneva, London, Los Angeles, and Hong-Kong boutiques for both Jaeger-LeCoultre and Batman fans.
