In Conjunction with Shanghai Film Festival, Jaeger-LeCoultre launches the full range of their New "Rendez-vous" Ladies Collection.

Combining their long heritage and expertise in fine horology and the growing competency of their design team, Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre launches a complete new range of feminine mechanical timepieces to appeal to the growing sophistication of global women watch enthusiasts. Borrowing a romantic and sensual name from their archive, the new "Rendez-vous" offers fine mechanical timepieces from using automatic movements with Night & Day Indicator to complications such as Tourbillon. From feminine Enamel dial to fully paved graphic diamond settings. There is also a limited edition piece with an ingenious matching carrying leather bag made by Valextra. Available in 29mm, 34mm and bigger diameters for the complications, the range should provide variety and choice to women who appreciate fine mechanical watches.

There is so much excitement during the glamorous Shanghai launch that the first piece of White gold Night and Day model with a special Shanghai Film Festival logo fetched an incredible RMB 580,000.-. the watch was donated by jaeger-LeCoultre in support for the Chinese Vintage movie Restoration fund. Jaeger-LeCoultre has supported the fund for a few years and three of the Chinese Classic films restored will be shown during this year's Shanghai Film Festival.

The Global launch coinciding with Shanghai Film Festival isn't the first Global launch in the all important China for the luxury market. As far back as 2002, Jaeger-LeCoultre already had the foresight to launch the critical Reverso Grande Date in Shanghai just before it was unveiled in Basel-2002. Then unheard off not just in the watch industry but in the whole luxury segment.

Jaeger-LeCoultre has been the official partner of Shanghai Film Festival, an event of growing importance in the international festival circuits as Hollywood studios and international celebrities understand the growing significance of the Chinese market. The evening at the Opening Ceremony saw more than 400 international celebrities walking through the red carpet. Coinciding with the event, Jaeger-LeCoultre also announced the appointment of famous actress and director Zhao Wei as the "friend" of the brand, Diane Kruger as the "face of Rendez-vous" and further support for the Chinese film restorations.

What's amazing is how different the dial looks with different light sources and angle of perception. I tried my best to capture the differences although not exactly able to.



















The nuances, the sheen and the unlimited gradients of colours - just wonderful!

... is the dial colours of the same watch can change so much with different light sources and the angle of views. My observation is that the darker the ambient light, the more vivid the colours. I have also discovered that enamel on mother-of-pearl dial, when done properly (like in the Wild Rose), can be very impressive!
