If you are interested to own the prototype of the 2012 Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph, here is the only opportunity and for a good cause. This prototype carrying the serial number "1" will be the only one for sale and will also be the first piece to be released to one lucky person.
In partnership with the International Herald Tribune and the UNESCO World Heritage Centre, Jaeger-LeCoultre will contribute this important prototype for online auction. The proceeds from the sale will be entirely donated to the protection of an exceptional marine site in the Philippines that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Marine Programme. This is the fourth time Jaeger-LeCoultre has contributed a unique watch for the same good cause.
Press release by Jaeger-LeCoultre stated that the proceeds of the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph sale will be donated to the Puerto-Princesa Subterranean River National Park in the Philippines that features a spectacular landscape with its underground river that emerges directly into the sea. The area represents a significant habitat for biodiversity conservation. The site contains a full "mountain-to-the-sea" ecosystem and protects some of the most significant forests in Asia. The proceeds from the auction will contribute to acquiring the equipment and materials that will assist the site with a regular monitoring programme toward evaluating the state of conservation of its exceptional marine value.
The prototype N°1 of the Deep Sea Vintage Chronograph is a fully functional original timepiece hand-crafted by watchmakers of the Manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre.
The online auction starts on March 12, 2012 at 12.00 C.E.T. and ends on March 15, 2012 at 12.05 C.E.T.
