I thought I was the kind of watch enthusiast who needs to see instant signs of life when looking at the dial of my watch.
It turns out, Jaeger Lecoultre just tought me, that I don't need that: less is more...

Nicely shot...

Even though Reverso Ultra Thin is rather new, my feel is that that the Grande Reverso Ultra Thin Tribute to 1931 range of watches look the most retro, at times even more so than the original 1931 Reverso. I know it seems weird to say so, but after looking at the black dial, the white dial and the Red dial... all of them juist look like the most classic Reverso I have ever seen.

Truly magnificent!

A lesson of design

The success of the reverso in the 30s is probably a mix of reliable mechanics, innovative answer to a common problem, and great design.
The success of the tribute suite comes from a fantastic lesson of design keeping just the essencial bits (three brand name is not even on the dial. Who else does this today?
The remaining details and proportions are close to perfection.
It is possible to leave the watch in three drawer to wear something more sporty for the week end, but boy, it is good to be on Monday, again.
