G'day,
we haven´t done this for a while, although i´m aware of many GP fans in Asia, Europe and the US!
So i´m very curious to see where´s your home base!
In order to give this a kick start, i´ll throw in a genuine GP watch polishing cloth!
Requirements are easy: Just include "My GP lives in [add your location (country)] in the subject line of your response to this post!
It´s easy (see subject line of this post), just ensure your response in this thread includes location in the subject.
Of course all messages will be much appreciated :-) Please feel free to tell us more; you may add your city of residence or tell us which GP is on your wrist! Or simply add your favorite GP watch picture!
The winner will be randomly choosen from all response, one week (7 x 24 hours) after this post is up!
Enjoy and i´m truly looking forward to see your responses!!
Cheers,
Peter

Appreciate your contributions here Peter, especially after KC left. Can't think of anyone better for managing GP now.
Well, I don't own a GP, yet, but I do like the 1966 Full Calendar and this year's Chronograph. In the near future perhaps.
Auf Wiedersehen!

...about 60 kms from where it was manufactured almost 40 years ago...however it originally lived in NSW, Australia (as did I) for about 35 years, until I acquired it from a gentleman there a few years ago. It's a Gyromatic alarm from the early/mid 70's, and is currently in bits so I cannot include a pic sorry. I have just got the case back from GP who have repaired and polished it, and am currently in the process of giving the movement a good clean and comprehensive service and refreshing the dial and hands. Hopefully it will be on my wrist within a few weeks !
Cheers,
Rob

and it is the same watch as this one :
Mine needs a good service at the base camp and once it will be in great shape again, I'll post some more information here.

From Singapore, a ww.tc I treasure lovingly... and enjoying every minute of the watch when on my wrist.

Hi Jaw,
am i wrong or there's Mr. Macaluso sign ("Gino") on the back of the case ?
Ciao from Milano, Italy,

Thanks slide1968, Very observant
This watch is very special to me in many ways... and unusual also in many ways.
Let me count the ways....

Wow!!!

that the case-back protective plastic is still intact today...
since i saw some red stripes looking like "erased" signs on the plastic protection
I believe that few objects in our life can contain so many meanings, reminders, memories as a watch can.
At least for men....
Ciao,

Last friday my polishing cloth arrived, and may I just say a big thanks to Peter and Xavier at GP!
Firstly I thought "hmm - must be quite a polishing cloth"...when the big parcel arrived in the mail. Turns out that the package, with a compliments note from Xavier the Marketing director at GP, contained a beautiful big 3cm-thick 220-page book on GP by François Chaille covering the history of the brand and their collections through the years with some awesome photos, and also the latest hardcover GP catalogue, a leather GP keyring, a leather GP credit-card wallet, a GP lanyard strap... and, of course, a GP polishing cloth.
I was impressed. GP seem to handle marketing better than many other 'luxury' brands...
Anyway, thanks again guys.
Rob

Another happy GP fan. Thanks to GP and of course Peter!
Jaw
As promised, pics of my '70s Gyromatic Alarm, now up and running, with COSC-level timekeeping ! :
Movement, freshly serviced
Dial side with date and alarm time discs (and broken-off original alarm barrel winding stem)
Movement with repaired and refurbished case...note alarm post welded to inside back cover. Makes a great noise !
With an aftermarket Rally strap...
Dial was pretty rough with lots of old cracked lacquer and moisture spots. After probably about 4 hours of cleaning with light solvents and 'sureau' under a loupe, this was the best I could do without doing damage
She's a fat old girl ! Wearing it now, and loving it. Gets lots of comments from my watchmaker friends !

Have fun wearing it and getting up in the morning !

Great idea Peter.
During the 8 months that I have lived in Arizona, I have yet to meet another GP enthusiast.
Cheers,
