Screws used in a movement may be barely visible to the naked eye, yet each one has a finely polished thread & head

I never realized that, but your picture with that (safety) match,
made it very clear.
To get these tiny screws in place, is a different world for me.

. . . was always cleaning and oiling the balance pivots and cap jewels, and then getting everything back in place without breaking or losing anything. I got fairly fast at it after a while but the first time was an absolute nightmare. I remember the shock springs gave me no end of trouble, and there are few physical frustrations that equal trying to pick up the cap jewel for the balance pivot with a tweezers for the first time.

It is NOT the kind of hobby to get into when the family is in bed and you've had a couple of relaxing cocktails, that's for sure ;-) . I wonder what part that screw is for.
