Hi everyone,

This is my first posting. I thought I would show my small collection of Girard Perregaux watches.

Apologies if anyone sees that I have made any mistake whatsoever in my forum postings from here and now on. Let me know if it's the case.

The highlights of the collection are the contract cased rose gold Calibre 03 which retains its original box and hang tag, and also the NOS 1964 square Damier which has been certified by the factory this year. Only 9000 were made in a ten year period with varying features (date, seconds hand, etc).

As far as I know, none of the watches have had their dials redone or any other significant permanent modification.

Hi Tim,

You have a very nice collection – thanks for posting. I'm a fan of the generally understated design aesthetic of the '50s and '60s GPs, and your collection is very representative of that.

Always great to see one brand collections.
I really like the plain models with the sec sub dial @ six
and the square model with bracelet.
Very nice these vintage pieces and thanks for showing them here.

I don't have a one manufacture collection as such. I simply placed the GP photos in one album.

As my signature attests, I have a small collection. A daily beater watch (Nauticfish), plus a chronograph, complication, classic dress watch, etc. I'm looking forward to taking receipt of my latest acquisition, a GP Calibre 32A. 570 is the reported production total for the movement in a variety of cases. Like the Longines UltraChron and the Zenith El Primero, it's a 36 000vph movement.

As far as I know, it has an issue with the movement, but I will have it running again.

. . . and a Chronometer HF is going to be a great addition, wonderful and historically important watches.

If it were me I would be looking out for an original Beta 21 quartz (I really do want one) and also one of the old Laureato automatics --those were terrific watches.

I also have a second generation high beat, but it's one of those Ref 9000D's in the small cushion case. It needs a replacement dustcover under the caseback. Anyone got a spare? By purchasing a 32A, I have a high quality high beat without the problems that GP's first ever high beat, the 32.7 had. There are a few of that calibre that I've seen in rough condition though.

I also need a case and crystal for a regular sized Calibre 42.1. It would be a particular round 35mm case.

I don't think that I'd wear a GP quartz watch, even considering the provenance of the Beta 21. There's been a few examples of GP's 1976 "Casquette" sold recently, but I prefer timeless designs from the 1940-60's, especially those with square cases. I do prefer watches which are 35-40mm across though.

I'm looking for a clean example of a 1945 GP. Not the current ones, but one made the year the Second World War ended.
