Antiquorum & Audemars Piguet Toast Watch Week with a Special Preview of 50 Exceptional Royal Oaks

New York, May 4, 2012 – On Friday, April 27 Antiquorum and Audemars Piguet celebrated the start of Watch Week with a cocktail party and special preview of 50 exceptional timepieces in honor of the 40th anniversary of the iconic Royal Oak. Watch enthusiasts gathered at the Audemars Piguet flagship boutique on East 57 St. to examine the exceptional timepieces offered in Antiquorum’s upcoming May 13th auction in Geneva.

Amongst the outstanding Royal Oaks on display were a Royal Oak Jumbo “A Series,” No. 88, a Royal Oak Jumbo Retailed by Bulgari that formerly belonged to the President of Venezuela Carols Andres Perez, as well as an 18K white gold and diamond set Grand Complication, Piece Unique No. 1/1.

Attendees were treated to champagne and sumptuous hors deuvres prepared by Tastings NYC. During the cocktail Francois-Henry Bennahmias (President & CEO, Audemars Piguet (North America) Inc.) toasted the evening with a humorous speech mentioning his appreciation for several pieces included in the collection followed by Julien Schaerer (Managing Director, Antiquorum Geneva) who spoke about the history of the Royal Oak and some of the highlights offered in the May 13th auction. Collectors had the opportunity to try on the watches as well as speak to Antiquorum and Audemars Piguet experts about the exceptional timepieces. Upon leaving, all attendees received an Antiquorum catalog for the upcoming sale as well as a beautiful Audemars Piguet book.
