In this field i still have a lot to learn, but however thru the years i tried to follow my own path in taking pictures.
I have an humble equipment, a D90s and some average lenses, but i try to focus on originality and sometimes for this purpose i make use of digital helps such as Photoshop.

My passion has always been shared among few "physical" friends, but now i decided to jump into the web and to put there some of my most meaningful pix.

Sometimes a dream watch looses a lot of appeal when finally on the wrist, because it is just not right. With a camera, nothing beats taking it through it's paces, but even then you can find out that it is not the one for your. Well, this is not the case between me and the X10! What a camera it is!

First of all I truly like the speed with which I can switch between all the different modes. Setting this camera is very intuitive, and therefor you can quickly adjust your settings, based upon your needs. It has a great grip and fits perfectly in my hand. When holding it in your hands you can truly feel the quality of the camera, and on a couple of occasions after making a shot my thumb actually went to the place where in the "old days" I could find the film-transport lever to get ready for the next shot....

Since it is relatively light and small it is perfect to take on the road, so you can still get high quality results when you are on the go. Although I didn't buy the X10 for this, are also it's capabilities as a movie camera more then good enough for online video's.

I also noticed that I really appreciate having an optical viewfinder again. In the heat of the battle I actually use both this, as well as the screen itself to see what I am taking a picture of. Same appreciation I have for the manual zoom lens. It really gives you control over your picture. What you don't have much control over is the amount of attention the X10 gets. I had a wide variety of people approach me and ask about the X10. That is something I simply expected.

My only problem with the X10? This camera is so much better than I am as a photographer, so I definitely have my work cut out for me to level this a bit out!

Shot on a Leica M3, 50mm Summicron, Ilford HP-5. Slightly over-processed, bumped the contrast a little after scanning with SilverEfex Pro.

Kinda want to try shooting with Tri-X but I am a bit attached to the really great dynamic range of HP-5.

And the fact it didn't, didn't deter me in the least from repeating the process Ad nauseam.

Another oft used (and abused) phrase is "A picture is worth a thousand words."

This article by Ming Thein on shooting with an iPhone, illustrated by a few of his photos, drives both adages home with a 10 ton hammer. And makes me want to cry at my own inadequacies when it comes to composition.

I've been mostly shooting on the street --either a Leica M6 or M3, mostly a 35mm lens lately as it's more forgiving for zone focusing. For street shooting by daylight I think a zone focused rangefinder camera is very hard to beat for speed --at anything from f8 to f11, pretty much anything more than arm's length away is in focus and taking a picture is as fast as framing and firing the shutter; it's so quick most people don't even register that they've had their picture taken.

For less than three hundred bucks I got a Plustek scanner that will scan up to 7200 dpi, and my iPad has a light table app that makes it --well, a fantastic light table.

I've been doing street photography for just a few months --it's interesting; as Cartier-Bresson said, you have to be very patient, but then you have to be very fast.

- Can take great macro-shots and very good overall shots, preferably without changing the lens.
- Long lasting battery.
- Enough weight to be able to have a steady grip.
- It doesn't have to be extremely small, but a bit compact so that it is easy to take on trips.

As for budget, I'm looking for a bit of balance there. I know I'm not a top-photographer so I'm not willing to break the bank for a camera of which I cannot take full advantage of it's true capability. On the other end, I also don't really have a clue at which price-range a decent camera turns into a good one. So I really need a little help from my friends! One of the nice things about Basel (and a lot of European cities) is that public transportation is above ground, so tram stops become part of public life instead of transport being hidden away underground, as in New York.

The newly improved Customer Care Centre is now equipped with new Leica Rangefinder and sensor calibration machine for the M digital cameras. The new equipment carries out adjustment and calibration checks, in particular, it confirms and aligns sensor flatness. These services are previously conducted only in the Leica Customer Care Centre back in Solms, Germany.

Mr. Kaul states, “With the launch of the new service centre, we are now equipped with the latest state-of the art Leica tools that will assist to repair most of the products in Singapore through our highly qualified product specialists. The arrival of the new machines in Singapore will shorten the waiting period for servicing substantially for M-camera users as basic servicing needs can now be conducted in Singapore. The waiting period for servicing will now take at least 7 working days and is subjected to parts availability from the factory.

Ms Juliana Yeo and Ms Adeline Lau to represents the Leica Customer Care Centre as main contact persons for Customer Care enquiries.
