![]() Heartiest congratulations to Edipresse, Dr Bernard Cheong, Wei Koh and the rest of the team and to the Nominated Jury consisting of regionally respected collectors and to all the winners of this year's GPHG (Asia). Last night at the Four Season's Hotel, the first GPHG(Asia) was held with Minister Lee Boon Yang gracing the evening together with the CEOs of the nominated brands as well as international celebrities. Unlike the previous year's category winners, for the first time the jury did not comprise of people from the watch industry but actual renowned and respected collectors. The GPHG Asian Watch of the Year is - JLC Gyrotourbillon 2. More photos and report of the event will be published later. |

Yes Harry, it was indeed a most memorable night for us and for Singapore. Straight after our first F1 Night Race, we have our first Asian Chapter of a important awards ceremony celebrating both watchmakers, collectors and enthusiasts alike. It is unlike no other, where a new voting system was created solely for the purpose of transparency and legitimacy in selecting award-winning timpieces by watch lovers and connosiers of elegance and yet powerful watches that made their own statements in their own right. While the jurors picked with both heart and mind, I believed they made their choices out of their passion. Congratulations to our local community for taking a big leap and ascending to a new level, of official recognition to both watchmakers and collectors. Yes, very exciting times ahead for the Asian Chapter and for the region. And on a side note, a big and hearty congratulations to all winners of their respective categories. You can be sure the choices are a true reflection of what collectors like. And also congratulations to JLC for winning the inaugural "The GPHG Asian Watch of the Year "! Lionel |

It was professional, it was convincing, both the judging and the event - and it was a most enjoyable night in excellent company.

Yes Harry, this is surely an historical event for all watch enthusiasts in Singapore! Congratulations to Edipresse, Bernard, Wei and all involved in making this such a phenomenal success!! It’s great to know that the winners were chosen by jurors comprising almost exclusively of collectors. I really look forward to next year’s exciting installation of this great event.
Cheers, Vernon |

Kudos to Bernard, Wei, Edipresse and the Singapore Tatler for putting this together. What a historical night for watch collectors and for Singapore.
The inaugural GPHG Asia was a huge success IMVHO... great selection of watches from as diverse a watch community as possible and to see the watches on display was pure awesome! Choosing a winner in several categories were tough as many selected pieces were of very high quality and standard. But all said and done, I salute the Jury who (as I understand it) were made up of several collectors (and not brand ambassadors or CEOs). They knew their stuff and they came up tops with their choices. Again, thanks to Edipresse, Singapore Tatler, Bernard and Wei for making this possible. WE WANT MORE NEXT YEAR!!! Looking forward to having the event in Singapore in 2009! ![]()

Congratulations to Edipresse, Dr Bernard Cheong, Wei Koh, Tatler Singapore & all others involved, on the successful event in S'pore last night!
The credibility of the voting system & the choice of jury eliminated possible bias in brands & selected the true winners in each categories. Well done! Thanks to Massi for coming up with the transparent & fair voting system! It was a truly enjoyable night for all! Thanks again to all those who brought this to S'pore! |

My sincere thanks to GPHH, Edipresse, the co-chairs, the jurors, and the local watch collector/enthusiast community in Singapore on the success of last night's event.
Like the F1 night race, this inaugural event will position Singapore prominently in the horological world map. I look forward to next year's event and am confident that it will continue to be held here in Singapore. Jeffrey Sim |

Its great that this event has graced the little red dot . Choice of independent jury of collectors is a first and voting system by Massi ensures a fair and accountable process .
Hope more time and publicity will be given to the event in future and that will give more credibiity to the Public's choice award . I congratulate the winners and all those who made GPHG (asia) possible and look forward to more in the future . George |

Another feather in the cap for Singapore, and reinforces the country's influential positioning in the horological world. Kudos to the watch collectors and enthusiast for their contribution.
Thanks to Rolf Schnyder for his dedication and passion in making Ulysse Nardin where it is today. Richard Mille whose contribution to the watch industry is now deemed a historical milestone. Thanks to Bernard, Wei , Edipresse and Singapore Tatler for making this happen. And thank you Harry for this coverage. Cheers Noel
